Adamson University bolstered its Final 4 bid in the UAAP Season 80 women's volleyball tournament by overwhelming National University (NU) in four sets on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Three players scored in double-digits for Adamson, with skipper Jema Galanza tallying 16 points, Joy Dacoron firing 13, and Mylene Paat adding 11 points. The Lady Falcons also got a whopping 39 free points off NU's unforced errors.
Adamson cruised to a comfortable two-set lead, using pinpoint serving to get the Lady Bulldogs off-kilter. But they succumbed to their old, bad habits in the third set, which saw them commit 13 unforced errors. A brutal stretch which saw them commit five straight miscues – three of which were made by Eli Soyud – allowed NU to take control, 18-14.
But they recovered in the fourth frame, with virtually every player contributing Jake Butt Youth jersey in scoring. NU, meanwhile, fell apart and committed a bevy of attack errors that doomed their cause.
"They (NU) had trouble with their first ball," said Paddda. "If you were to define us, we're not a strong serving team but we focused on consistent serves. We knew if they couldn't get a good pass, that eliminates Jaja (Santiago) and (Risa) Sato."
Santiago was the lone NU player in double-digits, scoring 21 points on 17 kills, two blocks, and two aces. Remarkably, the NU captain also had 11 digs in the game.
But the Lady Bulldogs' error-prone ways cost them, as did the struggle of their wing players. Once more, their open hitters – Roma Doromal, Audrey Paran, and Aiko Urdas – failed to provide ample support for Santiago.
